I have been to Bali Marine and Safari Park and would highly recommend it. The animal show was terrific, the safari trek incredible and the Elephant show amazing. Loved seeing the Phirana getting fed and there is a small water park that the kids will love and rides to enjoy. A number of different packages, depending what you want from your day. The Bali Zoo is just that, a zoo but with some different activities that you don't get in Perth. We got to hold some animals and we even fed the lion a big piece of meat skewered on a piece of wire. You get to stand very close to the lion. You are separated by iron bars but it was still imposing. I'm sure the kids will love the safari park. There is heaps to do from the trip around the park in the trams and the animal shows and encounters as well as the rides and water park. The theatre show is really good too, they bring in the elephants for it. Also don't miss the educational show they put on at the outdoor stage, they only do it once a day but it is really funny, your kids will love it. watch out for the guinea pigs! I prefer the zoo as it has many more animales, you can go at your own pace and there is a large variety of animals. You also get up close to many animals. The safari park seems to be a lot more expensive - is it worth it?? Kids would like to get close to animals if possible. Any ideas & suggestions would be very welcome. TIA! You need to plan for 4 -5 hours with photo stops and drink breaks etc. All in all it is a great day. Purchase your tickets through Bali Discovery Tours go to their web site, as they are cheaper than purchasing them at the gate. Get a driver to take you there and wait for you, the shuttle bus arrives too late. You need to get there on opening before the heat and crowds, also remember to take swimmers. The basic ticket jungle hopper is a good affordable option and then IF you wish you can pay for any extras ie elephant ride. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Safari Park - Which one?? 12 years ago We did both but we had 15 days to entertain the rug rats so just did a trip out each alt day with rest/hotel/ shop days in between. My kids were 8 to 17 and enjoyed both places and found different rewarding experiences at each place but the Safari park won the top vote. Def take swim gear and take a driver and then you can leave when your ready or in our case when we got kicked out !! Next time we will definitely be staying the night. Re Bali Zoo or Bali Safari Park - Which one?? 12 years ago Hi, The Safari Park is certainly a lot glitzier. The Zoo may have seen better days but is still a good way to entertain the kids. The flying fox ride, not animal at the zoo was great fun. It involved some climbing, shreeks from mummy, and a long slide down the rope to the car park outside. Do it on the way out.
